Super Flu, Dortmunder Philharmoniker & Philipp Armbruster - Volkwein
Super Flu create orchestral magic with 'Volkwein' in this riveting performance with the Dortmund Philharmonic. We've talked about layering in past reviews and how it's something that we love to see develop as songs progress. Techno and tech house genres are most well known for their long builds and wonderfully complex compositions. 'Volkwein' takes this concept to an entirely new level with multi-instrumental arrangements intertwined with isolated breakdowns of 2-3 instruments and a drum machine. If you've ever watched an orchestra perform you are immediately drawn into the dynamic and impressive ability of its conductor to coordinate so many different facets of the symphony. I can only imagine the excitement that Super Flu must of had when brainstorming for this project, officially known as 'Schilder einer Baustelle' which very loosely translates to 'Construction Signs'.What makes this even better is that the whole performance was also recorded on video:Super Flu aka Feliks Thielemann and Mathias Schwarz, are a jovial German based production duo that breaks the mold and encourages quirky, weird vibes. Humor seems to be at the core of the state of mind with a variety of animated music videos and hilarious photoshoots, most notably donning the 'King's New Clothes' attire and riding Falcor naked.Check out this awesome Play-doh-mation music video for 'Euterpeh':They went a step further with their video for 'Oktavlachs':You can listen to this and other tracks from this week's Guest Mix courtesy of MR PUZL:Enjoy,MR PUZL
