Track of the Day: Nautiluss - Lonely Planet
Deep in space there lies a planet where a sonic energy emanates from it's core but it is uninhabited. 'Lonely Planet' is a recording of its sounds that have traveled across many galaxies to arrive here on Earth, channeled through Nautiluss. The sonar blip is literally the best part of this entire song, and that's saying something considering how incredible this entire composition is. I say this because it really ties everything together in such a clever and subtle way. The drum pattern for this opening sequence of the track is great and really puts me in the mentality of going on this epic journey through space to seek out the source of the sound. There a wonderful soft build to bass line in the track as well, it sets up the rise of the lighter synth loops. Those higher registers round out a phenomenal soundscape and it's honestly such a joy to mix this track into sets. As Nautiluss states, "My proud contribution to the Adult Swim x Ghostly compilation...", I can only mimic those sentiments as this truly is a work of art that any artist would be proud of.If you're digging the style and vibes from this awesome producer check out another recent drop on the quirky Diner / Record Label Nite Owl Diner called 'Aerochrome ft. Vin Sol'Nautiluss came on to my radar through the incredible curating efforts of the legendary Ghostly International crew. This track made it's way on to their latest compilation 'Ghostly Swim', an awesome collaboration with Adult Swim. Adult Swim's Music division Williams Street Records have cleverly built a healthy discography of their own intertwining their more well known video content with album releases, singles and compilations (see Deathklok, The Venture Bros., etc). Here is a sampler from the compilation, click the Free Download to grab the whole lot:You can listen to this and other tracks from this week's Guest Mix courtesy of MR PUZL:Enjoy,MR PUZL
