Track of the Day: 'My Dream' - AZIMUTE
Crosstown Rebels off shoot Rebellion has been responsible for bringing you some of the best and brightest the techno scene has had to offer as of late. Their recent releases from Serge Devant, David Pher, and Jonas Rathsman (who courtesy of our buddies at Rolling Tuff is headlining Sound tonight here in L.A.) have been some of my go to tunes when ever I need to lose myself and listen to some powerful music that gets the creative mind working. Apparently the product of the group travelling together and realizing they shared a similar dream. Azimute have created such a tune with 'My Dream'. The track starts off with a simple kick and snare combo that drives unrelenting throughout the entire track. Along the way the track picks up little additions that slowly shape the track. First comes along a little vox sample who decides to jump on board followed by some choice percs. Not long after the main baseline and melody jump in and bring along with it an occasional phaser like sweep that slides in and out of the track. All of these elements have come together for the remainder of the track to create a very majestic and out of this world soundscape. Gives me a sensation of riding in spaceship and cruising through the universe skimming across the surface of the planets one after the other.
