Track of the Day: 'Barbès' - Teenage Mutants

Summer is in high gear here in LA and whether you were out at Splash House or stuck around town there was plenty of fun in the sun action. We have another guest mix coming to you this week from fellow LAMP artist Mr. Devoe. He's put together a moving mix of house and techno that will keep you going throughout the week. We'll have more on that tomorrow. Keeping the mood going from the weekend for the track of the day is 'Barbès' by Teenage Mutants. Released at the end of May it is quite possibly my #1 track of the summer so far. A fun and uplifting tropical beat with bit of a disco feel to it drive the song along. Early on in the track a filter on the melodic parts of the track is pulled back like a curtain revealing a spirited guitar and baseline accompanying a rousing xylophone, the centerpiece of the track. Some nice accompanying vocals give it very tropical vibe. Pass over another Mai Tai please!Teenage Mutants besides being plural is only one dude. With only a couple of years under his belt after his first major release with Andre Crom and Off Recordings this German based producer has quickly placed his stamp on the house music scene. Consistently putting out jam after jam he is highly sought after for his remixing abilities as well as his original productions. Working with some of the big labels such as Kitball, Suara, Off, and Stil Vor Talent to name a few. He has also been maintaining a very healthy touring schedule as well. One that saw him here in So Cal recently with our friends at Fortune 421. Looking forward to much more from this amazing producer and hope to have him back in So Cal again soon.
