Track of the Day: 'A Spiritual Thing' - Uabos

Good afternoon on this fine Thursday here in Los Angeles. Bringing the Track of the Day back to the present after yesterdays blast from the past by Underworld and Sven Väth.Borrowing one of the famous lines from Eddie Amadors''97 smash hit 'House Music', 'A Spiritual Thing' is one of the new releases from Uabos and Toytonics Records. A boombing kick and bouncing baseline are the focal point of this track. Uabos combines a driving groove, with a series of different chord stabs and tweaked out vocal samples that give me the feeling of being at some sort of techno circus. Reminds me a little of 'Clown' from Style of Eye off and some of the other stuff on 'Duck Cover and Hold On'A solid free download from Uabos. Strong stuff here.We have really been enjoying what has been coming out on this relatively new label Toytonics. In the past coulple of years they have been pumping out releases from some incredible artists including ZDS, Sacha Robatti, Luke Solomon, Hard Ton and many others. Uabos is the latest artist to join their growing roster of talent. Born and raised in Milan he has gradually developed his production skills through the years. Having only gotten his start a couple of years ago he is on a staedy rise to the top. A resident for one of the top clubs in Milan LE CANNIBALE he has been opening for a veritable who's who in the music scene there. In addition he is one half of the group Say Dubai who have a couple of releases with another label I really enjoy No Brainer. In the beginnings of what will no doubt be a long career, were looking forward to hearing much more from Uabos and his other projects for some time to come.Check out todays track of the day and many more in this weeks guest mix by yours truly.
