Mediman - Games

'Games' by Mediman is a superb minimalistic production that toys around with a collection of effects and drum patterns while a relentless vocal loop chants the tracks mantra. The subtle bass line groove is what really appeals most to me in this song, and it's used very effectively. Rather than overpowering us with heavy kicks as often is the case with a minimal techno / tech house tune we are really left with a lot of headroom that gives latitude to the playfulness of the vocals and room for open bass hit to ring through as we get through the initial breakdown and drop. To be clear my review of today's track reflects the essence of the song as a whole; not trying to impress anyone just get to the point. It's important to have a a variance in your music selection especially for longer sets where you may need to give your audience or dare I say, yourself a little break before building into the next portion of your journey. It's very rare that I come across a track or an artist/group that is truly this mysterious. What we can tell you with certainty is that this track is out and available on Waze and Odyssey's new compilation series 'Street Tracks Volume 1' on Vinyl and digital format. We also reviewed another amazing track off of this compilation from Sage Caswell called Nothing Stays the Same. We highly recommend investing some $ in this release as there are several other gems on this mixtape from the likes of Steve Huerta & Urulu, Ejeca, Chamboche, and many more. Waze and Odyssey have done damage over the past 4 years establishing themselves as stalwarts of the classic house scene and releasing a slew of releases on Wolf Music, Lets Play House, Tsuba and other prominent labels. Some of their most recognizable collaborations efforts have come in the form of remixes for Disclosure, Duke Dumont and T.E.E.D to name a few. Safe to say, without going into much more detail about this dynamic duo, that their live performances are not to be missed and that their success is certainly not unwarranted.Check this and other featured tracks from this week's LAMP Guest Mix by Atlas Boda:Also check out his latest track 'The Panther' out now as Free Download:Best,Alex
