Track of the Day: Martin Waslewski - Jack In Town
To start off this post off I should make a disclaimer. I am instantly drawn to any song with the word Jack in its title. Typically it is an indicator that the track is some form of Jackin' House which I love and have actually built up a nice little collection of tracks just because they are of that genre and have the word Jack in them (i.e. Jack by Breach). There are so many, one of these days I am going to make a mix for LAMP that is dedicated to Jack.Exploited Records has been another great go to label for me for a while now. They are always on the cutting edge of where dance music is and continually strive to take it to new territory. This latest release for Exploited Ghetto by Martin Waslewski was an easy choice for me today. He builds up nice little groove that feels part disco, part tech-house and part funk. A bouncing bass line rolls along while several vocal samples work their way into the arrangement. There is so much variety to them and they add a real human feel to the track. The part of this track that gets me the most is drawn out horn or whatever after the "Jack in Town" vocal hits each time in the song. It is something as a listener I really latched on to and makes the song really fun.Ever since his first release with Exploited Ghetto which was the second release for that imprint Martin Waslewski has been on my radar. I dont know too much about him so I tried to do a little digging to find out some more about him. First and formost I came across the remix he did for Yates you need to check out which is posted above from Soundcloud. That and many more exist there so dig in. There is plenty of great tech and deep house for you to lose yourself in. He hails from Germany and has had a good amount of success there as of late which is seeing him travel across the globe as well. Also producing for Mother Recording, Monaberry, and a few other German labels I am feeling like I need to be more familiar with. We are only just getting to know this relatively new and young producer so stay tune for more in the future from him.Check out our Weekly Mix #126 this week with Guest Mix artist from Washington D.C.
