Track of the Day: MANIK - House of Cards

We got this one in our inbox over the weekend from MANIK and thought you might be interested. For his debut release on Bpitch Control the label of techno goddess Ellen Allien, MANIK gives us an EP with four tracks that will satisfy your tech house and techno needs. "House of Cards" starts off with a salient groove that gradually makes room for the bouncing base line which rolls delightfully through the track as the lead synth stabs away at the booming sub bass. When the brazen vocal track pops in ("Dont bother me I'm workin"), I can almost imagine the dj's hand going up in the face of some unsuspecting patrons requesting tracks. All in all a very fun track and one of 4 very enjoyable tracks which were just released digitally this past weekend on beatport. If you want the vinyl you will have to wait till Nov 9th.A young and extremely talented producer MANIK got started back in 2011 with releases on three huge labels; OVUM, LA's Culprit, and Hot Creations. That in itself is enough reason to celebrate. With an extremely diverse sound that transcends genres MANIK has been carefully crafting his sound and bringing it to your ears quite successfully over these past few years.Over the next couple of years MANIK continued to release with OVUM and another favorite label of ours Black Butter Records. Bringing us to this year and his first release 'Tokyo' with Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs label Nice Age which saw a fair amount of play time from the likes of BBC's Pete Tong and Annie Mac.Over the years, MANIK has played in renowned venues such as Panorama Bar Berlin, Womb Tokyo, Fabric London, Revolver Melbourne, Q Nightclub Seattle, and has filled clubs in almost eighty cities across the globe. With a steady stream of releases on the way to close out 2015 and head into 2016, MANIK will see his his sixth release on Josh Winks Ovum, a new track "Freak Your House" coming on the almighty Hot Creations for their Hot Summer Jams 2, and a compilation contribution to the legendary Poker Flat Recordings. Combining this unrelenting passion and consistent quality over quantity, MANIK continues his limitless global rise.
