Track of the Day: Khainz - Diagonal (Niko Schwind Remix)
Been a little behind today with my review. Getting ready to start a new job and had to get a bunch of paper work done not to mention my graphic designing wizard has thrown me into the deep end this week making the post graphics while he is adventuring in Hawaii on a much deserved vacation. It has been a challenge but I have been learning a bunch. Ok lets get to it before I ramble on any longer than I already have. Today we have the latest from a label that has become a go-to for me over the last couple of years Heinz Music. The label is based out of Berlin and headed up by Marcus Meinhardt. Going on #62 now they have had some of the best names in the the business grace their label. Some favorites of mine include Philipp Kempnich, Paul Ursin, Victor Ruiz, and Nico Stojan going all the way back to the beginnings. For this EP Khainz returns with his second release for the label and included is a massive remix from Niko Schwind which is our Track of the Day. Schwind for the most part stays very true to the original, highlighting the sort of Desert Strings and chanting vocal. The principal differences are in the groove which takes on a much more industrial tone. I really like how he has taken the sub bass from the original, using it more as a fill and adding a bit more of a saw waveform to it. Also that sort of trumpeting synth which is taken from the original but just amplified by like a factor of 1000. Everything just feels huge in this track. Another great addition to a wonderful catalog of music. Check out the rest of the EP below and feel free to dive into the rest of this amazing catalog.
