Track of the Day: Franky Rizardo - Same Man

Leave it to Defected, objectively the Kings of all things house have released a reprise of the classic 'Be The Same Man' in the form of Franky Rizardo's 'Same Man'. Originally released back in 1983 by the B Beat Girls this track has been remixed, sampled and re-sampled time and time again. It has found it's way into some of the most prolific house tracks of all time over the years. I owe a lot of credit to Size 9's (Josh Wink) "I am Ready" for pushing me into and helping to get me hooked on the house scene out of High School. In 2006 Till West & DJ Delicious made a pretty slamming remix that made the rounds when it came out as well. I will post those down below so you can see what I'm talking about. It has been a while since I heard this track on its own or a remix from any one. When I saw that house wizard Franky Rizardo had done a remix I was instantly intrigued. Slap the Defected seal of approval on it and I'm doubly intrigued. Obviously he didn't dissapoint or I would be sitting here telling you about something else. He does a stunning job of recreating this classic. Starting with an infectious beat he draws you in with a multitude of hits and rides that get the shoulders shaking and the feet steppin. The party really gets moving when the vocal introduces the bass line and the lively lead synth make their way in building up the groove. The track reaches a fever pitch when Rizardo brings all of these elements together with the classic vocal hook creating a new hit that is certainly going to be burning up DJ crates and Dancefloors in 2017.
