Track of the Day: Kane West - 'Mexicans'
Track of the Day: 'Mexicans' - Kane West
It has been a great week bringing you the disco and house vibes of Alex Harringtons' guest mix. Make sure to check it out below if you haven't yet. Going rogue today to share with you an up and coming talent that has caught my attention over the last year, Kane West. I don't know much about him but as an avid follower of Turbo Records the name has popped up a couple of times starting with his off the wall and incredibly fun 'Not' remix of Tigas' smash hit 'Let's Go Dancing'.One of the things I love about his productions is his use of that 8 bit sound in his instruments. Particularly on the horns in this track from today. I imagine him in the studio using an old Commodore 64 with what ever his DAW of choice is. Its an unmistakable sound that is prevalent in all of his productions. Take 2 parts house, 1 part techno, 1 part Nintendo, 1 part Miami Vice, a splash of hip hop and you get a taste of what Kane West is putting forth at the moment. A bit of a flashback to the awesome sounds of the late 80's and early 90's. While he only has a few tracks to date they are all from one of the best labels in the business. A couple of remixes he has done for Tiga and his label Turbo Records. Today's Track of the Day 'Mexicans' is one of three from his first EP also released by Turbo Records. I am going to be keeping a very close eye on what West is up to in the future. I have a feeling we will be hearing much more from him in the very near future. Enjoy and check out more from Mr. West below.Don't forget about our guest mix from Alex Harrington as well.Enjoy,PZB
