Frankee - Wonderland

'Wonderland' by Frankee is a breakbeat laden delight that harkens back to the older jungle vibes with energetic vocals and blissful piano chords. Usually I would do a more specific write up of the track but I had a read through the info and description for this tune and have to say I appreciate how well written it is. So for simplicity's sake have a proper read through this breakdown of the tune:"For the ultimate switch-flipper, head to ‘Wonderland’. The complete contrast to ‘Black Heart’, here we find the London producer paying the ultimate homage to drum & bass jungle’s earliest rave carnations. With vibrant, euphoric piano licks, skippy breakbeats and subs so heavy they need their own passport, ‘Wonderland’ is a quintessential example of contemporary rave. As for the emphatic vocal? We can all agree with its sentiments. Music is indeed wonderful – especially when it’s being written by the likes of Frankee.""House-like pianos and synths combine with whale cry samples and a powerful lead vocal that all just come together so…wonderfully. As the synths float along and the underlying bassline continuously builds, a clean think-break sample in combination with a captivating piano-line take the lead and build upwards to a nice jungle-infused bassline. “Wonderland” is a laidback and funkier track in comparison to the lead single, but by no means lacks energy or depth. The warm and wobbling bassline rolls smoothly while the vocal sample rises up from underneath and reverberates over the crisp and addictively clean Lyn Collins sampled drum-break."Frankee has certainly been busy over the last several years, constantly providing ripping bass heavy tracks that really push the boundaries of what a sub should be able to handle. With several releases with the RAM Label under his belt and a brand new drop leading up to their Miami excursion, Frankee making sure the DnB crew is well represent in the midst of all the electro and big room noise during WMC this year. For those looking for a little darker and energetic vibe, I highly recommend seeking out the RAM crew and getting your dance on. Bring comfy kicks and your best break moves if you are considering it!Also featured in this week's mix is his recent release, that displays a much more aggressive style with one of the rawest sound basslines I've heard in a while:Listen to this and other tracks from this week's Guest Mix by Jeff Devoe:Enjoy,MR PUZL
