Track of the Day: Eagleclub - Stay

As I dove into Birdee's tracklist from his sublime disco infused Guest Mix this week I came a across the name EagleClub and how great it sounded in the mix. The result was a bit of a dive into a few rabbit holes on the interwebs since there is very very little about Eagle Club upfront (apart from their listed location as Dublin, Ireland). The Soundcloud profile lists only one other original and an electro-funk remix of Nottingham based duo April Towers called 'Modern Psyche'.

Vocals musing about love, heartbreak, and more really set the scene for the opening of this super-synth charged track. The staccato 808 cowbell pads in the opening bars are fantastic with expertly layered FXs that capture the disco analog style really well. Long stretched out chords that resemble a Roland Gaia charge forward as a bouncy bass layer provides the essential ingredient for a proper disco groove. The beckoning call of the vocal loop adds a sense of yearning and empathy that add some important emotional character to the track. The breakdowns are timely, and really let that cowbell open up the ears to allow that super round kick to return and warm the whole low end up. The final touch to the syth orgy is a fluttering arpeggiated progression that rides over top of the lead and only truly reveals itself in the second half of the arrangement.This track honestly deserve's its own music video or at the very leasy a reboot of an early 80's teen romp com film. I had to do a bit of digging but the intro audio seems to have come from a Youtube user AnnaMarie X (who recite's an emotionally charged original poem below.In summary this is a superb follow up to the equally dynamic disco roller 'Love Dimenion', which you can check out below.

Not a lot is truly known about Eagleclub as I mentioned before except that I learned while writing this that the artist behind this project, Gareth Donoghue, is also part of The Japanese Popstars. More to come and hopefully and update to this post to follow.
