Track of the Day: Doorly Featuring Marshall Jefferson - Neanderthal

Been a little bit since we have featured anything from Dirtybird. I dived deep into this new compilation earlier this week and not that I should be surprised but this entire collection is phenomenal. We are obviously big fans of Dirtybird here at LAMP and myself personally it would be easy to say I am a little biased. I don't always love everything that comes out of the Dirtybird label but recognize that the head honcho Mr Claude has an incredible talent for picking artists and productions for his label. He has done so again with this fine collection of works that has led us to our track of the day. With soft birds chirping and other jungle sounds in the back ground Doorly and Marshall Jefferson tell us a story of the origins of house music. A booming kick and bass line move along with the story while a stabbing synth bounces in and out of the arrangement. After the Neanderthal log beat down the duo introduce this synth line that gives me all kind of feels and makes me want to shake my ass so hard. It has an insanely good house groove that is loads of fun to listen and dance to. And that ladies and gentlemen is the story of how house music got started. Check out the playlist below to listen to previews from all of the tracks from the Secret Sauce and I don't usually tell people to do this but go buy it. It is 100% worth every penny.
