Track of the Day: Cleary - Make It Freak

LAMP-totd-clearyReally looking forward to sharing this week's Guest Mix by Sunset Groove with you all tomorrow. To kick things off I did some digging through the tracklist and went off menu to find today's track of the day. Cleary, better known as S. Jay of (S. Jay and Ostertag) is kicking off this fresh new project with a few forthcoming releases including 'Make It Freak' via Chief Recordings.

Cleary - Make It Freak

'Make It Freak' insinuates the very essence of its title with a big rolling bass line and snapping percussion pads. What really drew me in to this track was this dope acid-style synth that builds up during the breakdown and then really kicks into another gear when the kick comes thumping back in. It's a unique blend of the more bass-focused productions Cleary's has previously iterated on with a new take on classic UK acid style of the late 80s and 90s. It's obvious that Cleary is sensing a shift in house once again as more producers are returning to more traditional roots of its wide ranging spectrum and putting sounds back onto smaller more intimate dance floor settings. With commanding energy 'Make It Freak' retains a driving rhythm that pulsates with every down beat and will definitely leave you in a proper sweaty mess on the dancefloor.

Cleary - The Coming (Original Mix) [LOVE NOT MONEY] OUT 9TH NOVEMBER 2015

This Leeds based producer has been crafting his sound for the past few years with cohort Ostertag with signature bass laden house releases on a host of prominent labels including, Defected, Simma Black, and Keep It Zen. The duo also founded their own record label Domino Effect Records releasing a blend of garage and house tracks to great effect. As S. Jay marks only his second full year under this current moniker we see him transitioning yet again to explore more sounds and pursue somewhat more of a solo career with Cleary. Rest assured this new project will lack no energy and will be sure to lighten up a lot of charts in the coming months. Properly primed with this recent Love Amplified mix and a upcoming releases on two different labels, Clearly has definitely spent time planning out this next approach and we cannot wait to hear more from him.
