Track of the Day: Sandeman & John Monkman - 'A French Girl in Berghain'

In their first collaboration together Sandeman & John Monkman have knocked it out of the park. 'A French Girl in Berghain' is the result of these two coming together after a crazy weekend in Berlin. To truly appreciate this lets first start with Berghain. Berghain is a long standing club on the border of what used to be east and west Berlin. It is a huge venue holding up to 1500 people that used to be a power plant at one point in time. Arguably the worlds capitol for Techno, known for its hedonistic culture and its hours of operation (party people rarely arrive before 4am and stay till well past sunrise) Berghain has been a mecca of sorts for people the world around who love good techno and love to party and get really wild. Lets get back to this track though.Im not even sure where to begin with this track. This is one of the best Techno tracks I have heard in months. I couldnt even begin to tell you what this French Girl is saying but by the sounds of it she must be having a good time. There is so much goodness in this track I cant blame her. The track has a bit of a dark and minimalist feel to it using a variety of deep and sultry synth sounds and pads. Paired together with a tight little grove and some solidly constructed percussion it builds slowly on itself until it culminates with a colossal drop that might possibly make your head explode.Check out the tune and others from our LAMP Weekly Mix #55 featuring Jacob Millar:Enjoy,PZB
