Pedestrian - Pick Your Shots Clean

Today we have a brand new track from a new label Dama Dama records headed up by Pedestrian and Maribou State. Two producers who I have grown quite fond of over the years. I am a little more familiar with Maribou State but was instantly hooked and inspired to learn more about Pedestrian after hearing 'Pick Your Shots Clean' this afternoon. Growing up in the UK he was exposed to a healthy amount of Drum & Bass. While this track isn't thumping at 170 bpm you can feel those influences in the incredible drum work on this track. The track has an old school break-beat feel to it that you cant help but catch yourself bouncing along too. He doesn't make you wait long for the hook either. Within the first 10 seconds the 90's rave style bass line permeates through the groove and sets the track in motion. Coupled with a chopped up vocal that is sort of unintelligible but adds an important human feel to the track. An interesting bridge that takes on more of a rock feel with a charming sitar like instrument pulls the listener out of the moment before deftly dropping us back into the main bass line. The very end of the track pretty much says what I would say about this track if I only had one sentence.Pedestrian as I mention hails from the UK. Starting out in in Cambridge his music career has taken shape as he has developed a sound that defies genres. Working closely with Maribou State he has recently launched the new label Dama Dama (latin for Fallow Deer, hence the label art). So far he is the sole artist releasing on the label but I am sure as they just launched it is just the beginning and we will be seeing more artists contributing. 'Circadian Rhythms' was Pedestrian's first release for Dama Dama followed up with by remixes from Bastien Keb, Olsen and a Ross From Friends Remix as well. 'Pick Your Shots Clean' drops today on Vinyl and Digital over on their Bandcamp page make sure to grab it if you dig. This week we were fortunate enough to have Rafael Cerato in the rotation for our Weekly Mix series here at LAMP. Make sure you check that out if you missed it. It is a great mix to kick of your weekend of festivities.
