Track of the Day – Mood - F.Sonik

Going to segue from Unique (Cro), a producer who has formerly been featured on KD Records, to F.Sonik hailing from neighboring Slovenia. F.Sonik's track 'Mood' is one of the latest gems to come out on KD Records run by Kaiserdisco (more on them tomorrow). Let me tell you right now this track is a beast. Not quite sure how to describe it but there is a an instrument in this track that I am an absolute sucker for. It sounds a little like a cross between someone playing the didgeridoo while beating on it like a drum at the same time. The bass in this track is enough to make your head explode. Coupled with a rack of percussive elements that keep the energy pumping throughout the entire song. Definitely a gem of a track that I feel will hold its own for many years to come. This is one of those tunes that I could probably drop 5+ years from now in a dark warehouse and it would still feel new.There is a lot of good music coming from this region of the world lately. From guys like F.Sonik and Unique to Umek another Slovenian based producer and DJ. I can attest to their love of techno and tech house after just spending the summer in the Istrian region of Croatia. The culture of music is so different over there. Everything is still underground for the most part and it still feels like a fresh scene. That is gradually changing though as the region has gained much popularity over the last few years and given rise to a growing number of big festivals. It has been likened to and even been labeled as the 'New Ibiza' which is great for tourism. Nonetheless the region has produced some amazing musical talents and will continue to do so.
