Track of the Day - Alone (Vocal Mix) - Unique (Cro)

Alright so I know I have been pushing a techno vibe this week. While today's track 'Alone' is more on the side of tech house it is a great track that can mix well with the many different styles of house and techno. It has a classic Balearic feel to it with its sultry baseline and percussive element that has a little of that tribal techno feel to it. The vocal track feels like something out of a dream sequence. 'Alone' is one of a few tracks and remixes off this latest EP. With one of the songs being remixed by the legendary Wally Lopez I strongly suggest checking out the whole album.I have been wanting to feature this amazing Croatian producer and DJ for a while now. He has been a good buddy of mine since we got to spend a summer sharing an apartment together in Ibiza in 2009. Much of what I understand about mixing and producing I learned from Unique while I was there. We had a pretty fun routine if you ask me. It would consist of waking up around noon going and getting some breakfast and heading to Delano Beach Cafe up in Playa de en Bossa where we would hang out and play records until the sun went down and then head out to what ever club we were going to for the night (which was usually Space) and then do it all over again the next day. Not a bad way to spend a summer if you ask me.In the five years since I have known Unique he has gone on to become one of the most sought after Croatian DJ's and Producers. I just recently got to see him while I was in Croatia when he provided support for UMEK. He has over the last couple of years been on a meteoric rise with releases on 1605, KD Music (we'll have one of their tracks here on LAMP later in the week), Agile Records, Alchemy (Italy), Toolroom, Hotfingers, Night Light Records, The Factoria and Alleanza Records, all while drawing support from industry greats such as Umek, Marco Carola, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Mark Knight, Paco Osuna, Carlo Lio and Marco Bailey.
