Today we have one from Spanish-raised DJ, producer, and label co-founder Kalyma. A few months ago Kalyma released ‘Again EP’ on Solide, an independent label that he runs alongside fellow producer MYNY. The EP features 2 original tracks and a dub version of the title track. The EP’s A-side, ‘Again’, is an exciting deep house track that features a mesmerizing staccato melody and haunting vocals from Kalyma’s roommate Peter Stanowsky. I first came across the title track on Bebetta’s contribution to the LAMP weekly mix series back in August and haven’t been able to put it down quite yet. My favorite part is the breakdown as it jumps back into the verse. I love the way those soft symbols lead back into the melody as the kick drops back in. Beautiful track!Marc Schillinger, better known by his moniker Kalyma, is a DJ, producer, and label co-founder who is currently based out of Berlin. Schillinger was raised in the Canary Islands off the coast of Spain and moved back to Berlin in 2010 to follow his passions. In 2013 Schillinger launched Solide along with fellow DJ and producer MYNY. Solide has released tracks from local Berlin artists like D.Y.A. and Aaaron as well as international acts like Hollis P Monroe and Mikk Owlner. Schillinger himself has released music as Kalyma for labels like Trentmuehle, Budenzauber, and Connecrted Frontline. Next up for Kalyma and Solide will be the release of D.Y.A.’s ‘Lite EP’, due out on 11/3.
