Track of the Day: Sam Goku - Bloom
Track of the Day: Sam Goku - Bloom
Happy Monday my friends! Today I thought we would dial it back a bit with a track from Munich-based DJ and producer Sam Goku. Last month Sam Goku released his ‘Shan EP’ on Oleeva Records and it is chock full of minimal and naturalist sounds. My favorite track on the EP was the 3rd and final song ‘Bloom’. ‘Bloom’ offers the listener an intriguing array of emotional and methodically arranged sounds to conjure imagery of a forest landscape in early spring. The track leads in with a thumping kick and lighthearted melody as a dull chord gradually fades into the foreground. My favorite part is that modulated synth that Sam Goku introduces for the verses. It offers a captivating contrast between the optimistic mood of the early section and something slightly more forlorn. Reminds me of something Super Flu would put out. Great stuff!Sam Goku is a DJ and producer who is currently based out of Munich. Over the last couple of years Goku has shown himself to be nothing short of a rising star. His potential and talent as a producer have been recognized by some of the most forward thinking labels in the field having been pegged for releases by Kindisch, Anjunadeep, and Oleeva Records. Goku has played at some of Europe’s most prestigious clubs and events including Munich nightclub Harry Klein and The Secret Garden Party’s “Lost Woods” stage out in Abbots Ripton in the UK.Oleeva Records is an independent record label and artistic collective that was launched in Los Angeles in 2015 but has since moved to Bristol.
