Track of the Day: Darin Epsilon & Philip Chedid - Endless Sands Of Time

It is officially August summer is in full gear and Burning Man is around the corner. The OMG sale was today so I hope you all got your tickets if you were hoping to do so. Today's track is what I would call Playa Techno. From Parquet recordings Darin Epsilon and Philip Chedid bring us 'Endless Sands of Time'. A smooth methodical track with windswept violins and cellos that intertwine with arpeggiating guitars and and a percussive groove reminds me of some of the amazing music that I came across while traveling through southern Spain and the deserts of Morocco. It feels very natural. Taking me back to the big square in Marrakesh where hundreds of people converge day and night to sell their goods and set up their pop up restaurants. Surrounded by musicians playing their instruments as people eat and shop, filling the air with their sounds, but with a bit of techno spin on it.I mentioned it today in my write up for the Weekly Mix, Parquet is a label that does not always get the attention it deserves. Based out of Stuttgart Germany and in operation since 2006, Parquet has been one of those labels that for about the last 5 years since I discovered them, I am grabbing what ever they are putting out. Headed up by Normen Flaskamp – aka Solee, the last ten years have seen them put out well over 100 releases. Today's EP is #138 and that doesn't include compilations and special releases. I take that back as I am writing this they have introduced #139 from Alyne. It is not all playa techno that you can expect from this label either. With a wide range of artist that have produced for the label such as Einmusik, D-nox, Gui Boratto and Pig & Dan to name a few you can expect anything from smooth melodic techno to driving in your face techno, as well as Tech-house, House and everything in between. The entire collection is worth taking a minute or two of your time to go through. You can tell each track released has been poured over to make sure every detail is perfect. Looking forward to hearing more from Parquet in the future and to get you caught up on some of the past here is a playlist for their 10 year anniversary compilation that just came out as well. There are a couple of tracks from this release in my set from Lodestar which we uploaded yesterday for our LAMP weekly mix #135. Check it out and enjoy.
