LAMP Weekly Mix #135 feat. PZB
LAMP Weekly Mix #135 feat. PZB
Friday July 22nd I had the pleasure of curating my first warehouse event. We recorded the sets and this week I am back in the rotation for the weekly mix with my set from Lodestar. Fresh off of the experience at the Genius Loci festival (end of June), I wanted to try to recreate some of that vibe and at the same time use it as an opportunity to shine a light on one of our newest artists. What culminated was a line up that consisted of some absolutely incredible song selectors and producers. On the LAMP side we had PUZL Records Dan Jedynak along with MR PUZL and myself. Bringing the Genius Loci Vibe was Mr. Smith & Massio along with our headlining act of the night SAAND. For those of you that are not familiar with Genius Loci, it is a small festival on the coast in Baja. Mr. Smith, Massio, Saand and I all played the same after hours stage on the peninsula which was quite an experience. For Lodestar, while impossible to recreate that same environment, I think we did a good job of creating and developing a solid flow to our evening that had bodies moving and faces smiling till the sun came up. The night started off with Mr Smith & Massio who got the room moving. MR PUZL took the reigns from there followed by Jedynak and SAAND and myself.I don't often get to play extended sets. Most of the time it is an hour and then on to the next DJ. It is possible but hard to really have an opportunity to take the audience on a journey in an hour. Typically by the time you have really gotten into the flow of your set and with your audience it becomes time to wrap it up. Or you feel so pressured to cram as many songs into that 1 hr you lose direction. I was excited for the chance to really dive deep into my set. To be honest I had no idea what I was going to play. I had spent the day earlier loading up my USB with all of the songs that I thought would be perfect for the night. The entire crate/playlist consisted of 167 tracks. Out of that I wound up selecting 23 tracks that would make up the final product. Some of my favorites from the Steyoyoke Crew, a label that needs more attention Parquet, a new one from Lopezhouse feat. Angela, Matador and a whole shit ton of others. A full track list is below. It was a really fun evening for me to be able to have so many great friends come and enjoy a new experience from the LAMP family. Thanks to everyone in attendance and everyone else for taking time to listen. Enjoy.PZB1.) Donatello,Stefano Richetta - Simplicity (Third Son Remix)2.) WhoMadeWho - Hi & Low (Pezzner Remix)3.)
