Track of the Day: Frankey & Sandrino - Pollux
Sasha & Digweed, Gabriel & Dresden, Beniot & Sergio, D-nox & Beckers ;) there are so many great &'s in the House music world. I think it is safe to say that Frankey & Sandrino of Germany can add themselves to that list. With a steady output of incredible music over the last couple of years they have firmly established themselves as people to look out for when looking for some incredibly soulful and inspiring music or you just want to dance. Individually these two have been making their mark on the music world for over a decade. The two came together and realized they had something very special. The project dates back to 2010 and really picks up steam with their first releases in 2013 as well as Innervisions in 2014. Over the next couple of years they would have several more releases across multiple labels including a new label the duo started Sum Over Histories. We present them to you today with a fresh new release for Innervisions entitled Wega which includes our Track of the Day "Pollux". Sit back and escape into an alternate reality with this one. Starting off with a dreamy synth waterfall that pops back into the mix every once and a while, a punchy kick and piercing wood block that more or less follow the same pattern as the snare, comprising a very loungy groove that is accentuated by a healthy amount of vinyl noise. A simple little bass line keeps things nice and mellow with a choppy little synth lead cutting its way through a myriad of pads and sweeps. I am also extremely attracted to that sort of Drunken Flute that finds its way into the mix from time to time. I am really having a hard find finding enough words to explain this song and the many different paths it follows. From start to finish this song is a journey and tells a complete story, one that keeps getting better each time I listen to it. I think that might be the best way to describe it.
