Track of the Day: Young Franco - Talkin' Bout It (ft. KLP)
Young Franco - Talkin' Bout It (ft. KLP)
Young Franco's bouncy house tune 'Talkin' Bout It' puts you in all the right moods with uplifting grooves, sultry vocals and driving kicks. An easy but worthy comparison to draw from this track is its resemblance to Disclosure with those wavy synths chords bouncing back and forth, mixed in with KLP's gorgeous airy voice. The track has a modern funk vibe mixed in with a sort of 80's dance-pop infusion. The breakdown mid song is dreamy and when those vocals are reintroduced just before drop it's excellent and almost retro in its likeness to early synth-pop vocals. As you can see I could spend all day drawing comparisons and likeness to other styles and forms of music and that truly speaks to the quality of the track.Another favorite of mine from the Franco & Friend's Vol. 1 compilation that caught my attention is a bass heavy modern disco vibes of 'Don't Stop':Young Franco's FUTUREFUNK EP definitely put him on the map as far as a jumpstart to his young career goes. Several tours and gigs around Australia and further successful releases saw producers like Motez and Indian Summer giving him the appropriate nods. His follow up EP 'Close 2 U' delivered two dynamically different sounds with the self titled track providing a more dance pop friendly atmosphere while Hurricane delivered heavy basslines more reminiscent and wobbling synths more in line with a UK House sound. The self titled track garnered plenty of interest an even provoked a remix package of its own chalked full of other young rising talents showcasing Franco's ability not only to produce but curate a collection of like minded artists to produce exciting work.Don't take our word for it, have a listen to Young Franco's soundcloud and thank us later:Listen to this and other tracks from this week's review on our latest Guest Mix courtesy of CURT REYNOLDS:Enjoy,MR PUZL
