Track of the Day: Tengu – Feel The Energy

Taking a track from Shuhandz bass laden guest mix for us this week. I wanted to dive in and see what I could find out about a new duo whose name I have seen popping up recently more and more. 'Feel The Energy' by Tengu represents the groups affinity for jacked up house and that UK garage sound that has been dominating dance floors as of late. Which is what the duo have created with this piece here. A perfect four on the floor jackin groove combined with phat round bass lines plucking their way through the mix. Keeping things interesting by working in some wonky synth stabs for effect along with some cool vocal effects and the title vocal track. This is some classic sounding jackin house with a bit of that bass heavy garage sound to and it works beautifully. Honestly feels like the 90's are coming back full swing with all the amazing new garage and acid style tracks I've been hearing lately.Tengu are a relatively new duo from what I have been able to discern. Looking through their catalog on SoundCloud you will find a few of their originals including todays track. You will also find a handful of bootleg remixes which if your a dj are great to have in your crate and some full length mixes/podcasts as well. This Worthington/Brighton England based duo has been doing very well holding down a residency at Samauri Knights a new night at the Pavilion Theater in Worthington that has that has seen them open already for Dj Fresh, Plump DJ's and Krafty Kuts and soon to be supporting legendary 808 State and Utah Saints early next year. Tengu is kind enough to put almost all if not all of their music up for free so go pillage the heck out of it right now and keep an eye on these guys.
