Track of the Day - 'Take Me Away' - DJ S.K.T featuring Rae

We are smack dab in the middle of summer and its time for a little Independance weekend! To kick it off right we have this massive house tune 'Take Me Away' from DJ S.K.T. & Rae. I absolutely love the sound of the bass line in this track. It reminds me of when I was a kid growing up in my neighborhood. It was a new sub division and there was a lot of construction & materials lying around. In particular those big PVC pipes for plumbing and electrical wires. Anyway I would run around there and mess around when no one was working and beat on the pipes and make different pitch noises that sound just like what S.K.T. has produced here. I'm a total sucker for that sound and variations of it. Add in the classic house groove and, as the amazing vocals from Rae suggest, you can 'Take Me Away' to the dance floor right now. Down below I have a mix of S.K.T. from Ministry of sound and this is the second song in the mix.S.K.T. is another Brit who has been making a name for himself. On a path to DJ from a young age. He has been competing in DJ competitions since he was 12. He finished as high as 4th in Britain's "Technics DMC under 18's battle". The last couple of years have seen his career take off with support from Annie Mac and BBC's Radio 1 as well as house masters MK & Fedde le Grande. Major releases include today's track which is out now on Azuli Records along with major releases on Defected and Strictly Rhythm. Listening to this Ministry of Sound mix and his track selection has got me all fired up for the weekend for sure. S.K.T. is going to be one to keep on your radar.
