Special treat today. A couple of days ago Stimming dropped his newest LP ‘Alpe Lusia’ and, surprise surprise, it is dope. On an LP that is chock-full of beautifully composed music, ‘Symphorine’ stands out as a truly unique track and the most dancefloor friendly tune on the album. ‘Symphorine’ features Guilhem Desq, a hurdy gurdy player from France. Desq’s contribution to the track adds a feeling of life out in the countryside and all of the emotions that coincide with that kind of existence. In an interview with Deep House Amsterdam Stimming says this of his state of mind while producing the track: “Each and every emotional aspect of all album tracks was heavily experienced by myself.¬ I was very emotional a lot because of happiness, because of being alone, missing my wife, being melancholic ¬and I allowed every feeling to come in simply because I was alone. To some extent I was in an artificial manic state of mind (which I’m not in my normal life, thank god) and especially on this track at one point I realised the need to finish it fast because I was afraid of losing my mind.” The entire album is layered with raw and complex emotions but they seem to come out to a head in ‘Symphorine’. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed![soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/1588981" params="color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false" width="100%" height="166" iframe="true" /]Martin Stimming, known to most by his surname, is an artist of rare abilities in a landscape that is saturated with young, incredible talent. I think of Stimming in the same terms as Stephan Bodzin – living at the intersection of genius and hard work. Music has been a part of Stimming’s life from very early on and his lifetime of experience is evident in his work. By the time he was 10 he already played violin, piano, and drums. At 19 he decided to move to Hamburg to pursue a career as a DJ and electronic music producer. It was there that he linked up Solomun and Adriano and joined their new imprint, Diynamic Records. Stimming's 2009 release ‘Reflections’ is one of the seminal House music albums, earning him ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Ibiza DJ Awards. 'Alpe Lusia' is sure to garner similar attention and accolades.Chicago homies – make sure to check Stimming out at Spybar on June 11th when he comes to town for the ‘Alpe Lusia’ Tour![soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/163643103" params="color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false" width="100%" height="166" iframe="true" /]In other exciting news we just launched our distribution label PUZL Records today with the debut of Jamie Prado's EP Milk & HoneyIf you're in LA or nearby come hang out with us at our record release party this Saturday it's FREE with RSVP.MH-Flyer-FB
