Track of the Day: Rowee & Thomas Gandey - Earth To You

Crosstown Rebels sub-label Rebellion has been a great place to go to find those deep and soulful techno and tech house vibes dating back to early 2011. It has put forth music from Fur Coat, Tim Green, Timo Maas and many many others that deserve mention, I will let you discover on your own. The latest release is from Italian producer Rowee along with the master Thomas Gandy from the UK. Maybe its the crickets but this track gives me sensation of being in dark southern swamp. The groove is gritty and deep with a little bit of bounce to it. Almost taking on a bit of a minimal feel to it. Breaking the track up a little and keeping things interesting is an obscure female vocal that is a little hard to make out but is singing the title chorus. Another male vox pops in from time to time that I cant figure out what he saying but adds a nice touch especially when the two vocals play off of each other. Aside from a few other releases 2017 is the beginning of Rowee who is the alias of Leonardo Gonnelli, Audiomatique and Play It Say It are the others. We will be looking out for more from Rowee soon hopefully. Thomas Gandey on the other hand has been a major player and producer for quite some time with a list of accolades a mile long. Formerly Cagedbaby (I have some of that on vinyl from back in the day) he has been someone whose music I have always gravitated to. I am especially fond of his recent release with Noir.
