Track of the Day: Raffaele Rizzi - Make Me Feel Alright
Getting off to a slow start this morning. Those degrade.la boys kept us up late, and then Mr. Puzl and I decided to do some b2b mixing for a bit after that in the studio. We were playing some of the songs that I had picked up recently and this was one that threw in there. Often times when I am searching for new music to add to my ever growing music library I will pick something if I recognize a label that I like with out even listening to it. 99 time out of 100 if its from a label I know and trust it is good. That was the case with today's track of the day from Raffaele Rizzi and 100% Pure Records. I fell in love with this track instantly and feel that it is the type of track that will have a place in many DJ record crates forever really it is such a great track. It has a powerful driving groove that reverberates throughout the entire room. The oscillation and subtle pitch changes in the vocal track give it an edge that really cuts through the main groove, giving the track that extra added punch. A quick little breakdown with lazy flowing synths and some wispy pads builds back into powerful reintroduction of the main groove and vocal that will take your breath away as the track continues to drive away to its abrupt end. I'll be keeping this one close and handy for quite sometime.Raffaele Rizzi is an Italian producer who's productions have been finding their way into my music collection for the last few years. Upon last search I had about 20 tracks from him. Which is a good thing because really he just keeps getting better and better. He was already good to begin with so its exciting to hear someone like that progress. The last few years have been good to Raffaele with a bunch of releases with major labels including, 1605, Deeperfect, Bitten, KD Music, Tronic along with the latest 3 track EP from 100% Pure and many others. Quickly gaining respect from the biggest names in the business. His style varies from tech house to techno and all spaces in between. Someone I will be keeping a much closer eye on in the future that's for sure.Make sure to check out this weeks guest mix from LAMP from Boots & Pants as well. Enjoy.
