Nicky Night Time - Gonna Get Better

'Gonna Get Better' by Nicky Night Time is an explosive dance anthem with all the right ingredients; a beautiful vocal partnership, silky piano stabs, and a thunderous bassline harkening back to early 90s house productions but with a modern fusion. The opening bars of this track really set the mood for what's to come. Delightfully slow and pronounced piano chords mixed in with Nat Dunn's sexy vocal loops accompany us on a wonderfully orchestrated, epic build up. The moments before the drop are heart-stopping with Dunn's voice rising majestically over the rest of the track's layers delivering a euphoric crescendo as the notes from the bassline peak through and a soft drum roll builds up the anticipation. Seconds later, we are suddenly plunged back down through the sonic atmosphere and thrust into an array of body bouncing kicks enveloping the low frequencies superbly. Nat Dunn's chorus carries us through the bridge, gliding along calmly reassuring us that it is going to get better, and it does. There is no question that Nicky Night Time and this track in particular are going to dominate the airwaves and playlists this summer, and we couldn't be more excited for him.If you we're somehow asleep when his first tune 'Everybody Together' came out, here's a refresher:Nicky Night Time aka Nicholas Routledge was originally the front man for Sydney based pop group Van She (a top 10 charting band in their own right) before transitioning into more electronic based productions. His first foray post-She was with his bandmate Michael Di Francesco in the form of Van She Tech releasing remixes like heavy electro disco treatments like 'Master & Slave' by Vandroid, and 'Synthetiseur' by Housse De Racket. In 2014 we saw the release of 'Everybody Together' which charted instantly, received an ARIA nomination and garnered support from some of dance music biggest names (Aeroplane, The Magician and Digitalism) and properties (BBC's Annie Mac and Rob Da Bank as well as inclusion on Ministry of Sound's Annual). With his latest incarnation, Routledge is seeing a exciting response and short term success that we hope will continue and become long term.Check out more sounds from Nicky Night Time below:Enjoy,MR PUZL
