Track of the Day: Nhan Solo – Feeling
As we hit the midway mark, we're always looking for those tracks that can get us through the rest of the week and give us a little extra push. 'Feelin' by Nhan Solo definitely falls into that category along with its EP partner, 'Get Ya Love', which recently dropped on Mother Recordings.
Nhan Solo – Feeling
A big, open kick and whirling synth chord start the track off with a sense of purpose. The intro leads into a deep purring bass line which provides an extra layer of energy to the low end. Looping samples of James Brown's famed "I Got The Feelin' coming echoing over the top of a collection of tight snares and claps. It's not the first time this particular James Brown's track has been sampled but Solo uses the sample library cleverly with a host of stabs and longer runs of chorus lines during a series of breakdowns. The lead piano synth provides a funky groove that bounces between each beat adding a little extra bit of soulful flavor to the track. The tempo of the song is never lost and with each transition we see layers pushed and pulled in every direction especially within the percussion arrangement to provide diversity within the overall composition. The track has characteristics that tie it into both the club environment as well as a more relaxed setting.Check out the equally powerful 'Get Ya Love' and buy the EP, it's worth every penny:Founder of Mother Recordings, Nhan Solo has made the shortlist of top house producers in short order.
