Long & Harris - Who Knew

Back in the studio again after another sweltering weekend here in LA. This week we have our friend Alex Harrington joining us with a guest mix. Much more on what he has been up to lately as well as his mix coming tomorrow. Today we have a release from a British duo Long & Harris to get your week started. 'Who Knew' grabs your attention with the bass line that immediately hooks you in and gradually takes you on a journey of funk and soul. Soft synths meander in and out and wrap around an assemblage of stabs and sweeps that add to the tracks atmospheric vibe. Released a couple of months ago on Spirit Soul records it is just one of a plethora of releases from Long & Harris. Like this free download they just put out 2 days ago.Coming out of the UK this duo has only been at it for a few years now. As often is the case when a duo gets together these two saw eye to eye on many things and after putting together a few successful music nights decided to put it into action in the studio as well. Almost instantly their works were snatched up by the highly respected Toolroom Label. They have seen several more releases including 'Close to 89' for Toolroom which reached #1 on beatport last year. In addition they have several more releases with Spirit Soul, Grin, and Brooklyn Fire to name a few. They have a very unique bass driven sound that adopts the disco vibe of the 70' and 80's. A deep soulful sound that continues to attract support and attention from around the globe. A drive to be the best at what they do and support from guys like Mark Night and David Squillace have these guys set to make some serious moves in the future. Check out more from these guys on their SoundCloud page. Plus one more download cause maybe you like free music. See you all back here tomorrow with this weeks guest mix from Alex Harrington.
