Track of the Day: Josh Butler Ft Lono Brazil - The Essence Of House

Going back to Noir records for todays Track of the Day. Josh Butler goes old school with his new jam 'The Essence of House'. Its his second EP for Noir records and for many of us will be an interesting story about the house scene of the 80's and early 90's. In the process of making this Butler had an opportunity to sit down with Designer/Producer/DJ & Lifestyle Guru, Lono Brazil. Brazil being from Chicago was very well versed in the house music scene. Literally growing up with it. Accoriding to Butler Lono was a life long friend of Frankie Knuckles and Larry Levan (Frankie was his son's Godfather), and he spent his weekends at the legendary Warehouse in Chicago with Frankie; the spot credited as the birth place of House music in the early 80's. Later this passion for fashion and music became a lifestyle which he took with him to New York where he was part of the famous Stüssy Tribe. From there he has continued to spread his influence traveling the globe as a model and general purveyor of all things awesome. He has had an interesting story throughout his life. One that Butler saw fit to tell in our Track of the Day.This is the first time we have featured Butler here at LAMP. To be honest it should have happened a lot sooner. Ive been a huge fan of Butlers since his release with MTA records 'I've Got a Feeling'. That was followed shortly by another release ease he did with Darius Syrossian for Off Records. Ever since he has been a producing juggernaught. He has had a number of great originals and remixes that he has released which you can get a taste for below and on his Souncloud page. Bringing dance floors some pure old fashioned house music with a new edge added to it. Enjoy.
