Track of the Day: Formation - Pleasure (Huxley Remix)

Was doing some digging this morning and came across this little discovery right here. 'Pleasure' was released as a single last month by a relatively new band, Formation. Today was my first time hearing the track and the band themselves thanks to this incredible remix from Huxley. It is forthcoming but you can stream it above or on SoundCloud anytime you like for now. The intro on this remix and how Huxley so intricately weaves the piano and bells from the original track while bringing in the vocal is what immediately drew my attention to this track. He keeps me there when his disgustingly phat bass line kicks in, along with a booming kick taking the track into a sort of dark tribal zone. Huxley masterfully takes us on a journey with this track lifting us up with bright and airy synths only to drive us deep back in to it with brooding bass lines that shake you down to your ankles along with that massive tribal groove of his. The vocal on this track was another huge attention grabber for me. I had never heard of Formation before this. I decided to do a little digging on them seeing as how Mr. PUZL just gave us a great review on Huxley not too long ago.Comprised of twin brothers Will and Matt Ritson are 100% in the cross hairs from here on out. Over the last year the duo, who to me are mildly reminiscent of LCD Sound System, have been putting out a steady stream of singles and remixes. Currently they are putting out 'Pleasure' the first single for the new album which is forthcoming on Meno Records a wing of Warner Music. In addition they are in the middle of what appears to be one hell of a spring and summer tour/ festival season. Too many to list but if you are reading this from anywhere in the UK or western Europe chances are they will be at a festival near you. If you were at SXSW you may have caught them but other than that we will have to wait a little while for them to make their way over here. I will be waiting when they do though.
