Track of the Day feat. Gerd and Sleepy Cat

LAMP-trackoftheday-mrpuzlThis week seemed to fly by and my shift on #trackoftheday selects comes to an end. I leave you with two fantastic tracks by Gerd and our very own Sleepy Cat!

Gerd - Still Believe feat. Marcoradi

Gerd has been at this for the better part of two decades releasing his first LP on Evolution (Tom Middleton and Mark Pritchard) and the Dutchman does not see an end in sight. This producer goes by a variety of other names that each have their own style producing classic house tunes under NY STOMP and more Chicago vibes via Geeeman. Gerd really does have it all. He's a master of many styles and incredible DJ; his live set on BBC1 this year should be a testament to that.As far as this track goes I am a sucker for a dope ass piano loop, and this one nails it. The uptempo beat gets you going right from the start and doesn't let up, 3:39 of pure bliss in my opinion.

Hypnotize - Sleepy Cat

We've done our fair share of introductions for Sleepy Cat, but not enough can be said for the guys techinical abilities as a producer. A sound engineer by nature his attention to detail is paramount and can definitely be heard in the quality of his production, not to mention he's an incredible live DJ as well. I'm very lucky to be able to feature another one of his amazing tracks in my mix this week, and this one in particular is personal favorite. The vocal cuts at the beginning of this track are tight, and the break beat flow is a true homage to #realhiphop. I heard my fair share of attempts at remixing this track and none of them have come close. You can call me biased or you can listen to the track and judge for yourself.Checkout his more of his music here:Be sure to check Sleepy Cat and the rest of the LAMP crew out on the Santa Monica pier in a few weeks at Silent Frisco, tickets are still available!SILENT-SANTA-MONICA-FINAL-EDITEnjoy,MR PUZL
