LAMP-totd-dyaWe've got 2 firsts for our Track of the Day in the artist D.Y.A with this superb tune 'Do It' released via imprint Solide Musik. This week was a very exciting chapter in our Weekly Mix series as we featured one of my favorite producers, Giom. Not only was his Q&A a pleasure to conduct but the tracklist to accompany it was full of a ton of new music including our feature today.

D.Y.A - Do It

Although the full track has yet to be released (slated for Aug. 24th), what I heard from Giom's mix and the preview on Soundcloud were more than enough for me to get excited about reviewing this track. Between the hypnotic vocals and infectious groove there's so much in between the layers that you can reveal with each playback of this track. It's no surprise that this fell into Giom's tracklist as the percussive elements are superbly crafted. The soft round kick supplemented by a collection of hand drums are cleverly dispersed amongst the lead synth and vocal tracks. The separation is extremely clean and the dynamic range gives me a clear indication that this is primed and ready for some thumping sound out of a big system. There's a really nice grainy distortion applied to what seems to be a heavily FX'd shaker that compliments the filters applied to the lead synth (guitar) solidifying the composition so that vocals can command your attention as they come in and out of the arrangement. Speaking of, I'd love to see the production notes on this project as I'm curious to know where the vocal sample came from, or (as I'd hope) if they were recorded and written specifically for this track. All in all, looking forward to the release and not that the original wasn't enough but this remix by Hollis P Monroe is stellar as well!UPDATE: "I wrote the lyrics together with the lead singer of the band "Brothers of Santa Claus". Very talented guy! So everything is original on "Do It" I very rarely sample and try to produce/play everything by myself." - DhanyaDhanya Langer aka D.Y.A is a Berlin based producer from a university town called Freiburg in the Southeastern part of Germany. The natural progression for most European based producers is the migration to the mecca known as Berlin and as appearances depict this budding artists is only just getting started. Recognition from the likes of Sincopat in the form of this electrifying, deep single 'Horace' proves his knack for understanding the natural groove and rhythm of live drumming.Combined with an ear for really well developed synths, further emphasizes the raw talent pouring out of D.Y.A. Let's just say he's fully on my radar now and I look forward to reviewing more music from him in the future.Check out more from D.Y.A below:The second, first for us to day is the label which is releasing this track, Solide Musik. Founded in 2013 and simply listed as a German company the imprint has done well to be selective and tactful in its choice of artists and releases. Also their genre tagging is simply listed as "house" revealing their aversion to pigeon-holing their sound and letting listeners really discern and take-away what they want from the music on a more puristic level. After only a handful of releases under their belt I'm already looking forward to what they have coming after this release.Listen to this tune and other from Giom's latest Guest Mix:
