Track of the Day: David Granha - Third Skin

Sincopat Records once again brings us the track of the day. This time from some one who I have been following as of late due to his work on Steyeyoke. 'Third Skin' is his latest release, part of a two track EP for Sincopat released earlier this month. I don't quite even know where to begin with this auditory masterpiece. It is as if he is commanding an orchestra of techno playing robots. A perfect mixture of wandering synths and whispering FX weaving their way through out the mix. Coming at you from the left and the right and bad ass deep brooding bass lines hitting you dead on in the face. A big booming kick and varying percussive rides and shakers keep the groove moving along with some vibrant toms. Adding to it and giving the track a darker feel is a simple vocal that repeats a series of ominous words in succession a couple of times during the song. It is one for those really late night warehouse or bunker parties (depending on where in the world you live) where you can shake the roof off the place.Spain is the land that David Granha calls his home. I only recently became familiar with his musical production prowess through my following of Steyoyoke like a hawk. Joining the Sincopat family is a huge step in the right direction for him. In addition he has been producing for a few other labels I follow quite closely like Einmusika, and Parquet Recordings. It appears he has yet to make any appearances here in the U.S. although he was just in Montreal and Toronto earlier this month. Would love it if we could get the man over here to LA soon. In the mean time enjoy some of his other productions and keep an eye out for more from him soon. He is starting to crank them out left and right! This week marks mix #125 for Los Angeles Music Project. I am happy to have been the one to bring it to you. Check it out below with today's track of the day from David Granha amd a bunch of my other favorite artists and labels.
