Dauwd - Jupiter George

Dauwd delights us with a dreamy house track in 'Jupiter George' with its beautifully orchestrated soundscapes and slow majestic builds. As I've stated in the past I'm a huge fan of long introductions, and Dauwd does this practice no disservice with a patient layering of rolling synths and percussion swings. As the track carries into the main build, the dropout just moments before is captivating, as bit by bit tracks are slowly faded out to leave a long stretched out synth note and a few ambient sounds panning around it. A smoothly crafted kick enters the fold as the lead synth dances amid an array of open drum beats and hi-hat rests. There are a lot of elements at play in the song and Dauwd does an excellent job reassembling and arranging each track into pairings. This creates diversity but with an underlying uniformity and cohesiveness that demonstrates excellent composition. The other track within this EP release carries this notion forward delivering a well rounded group of songs.Check out the full EP here:Coming off of two previous releases on Kompakt, Dauwd returns with this EP and shows a slightly different side to some of his more familiar melodic Techno productions. It is this ability to break from stride in style to explore and exhibit new sounds that sets Dauwd apart from the new crop of producers in the UK and his work has certainly not gone unnoticed as the famed Ghostly International picked up 'Heat Division' early on in 2013.My first encounter with Dauwd's music came from an old Bonobo Boiler Room set a few years back that showcased 'What's There' off of that self-titled EP on Pictures Records. 'Ikopol' also became a favorite, and has provided some wonderful meditative moments of listening during breaks from my usually long stretches of digital crate digging. Please explore more from Dauwd and a lot of the exciting acts and artists that are related to him. It is one internet rabbit hole I promise you will not regret venturing down.Enjoy,MR PUZL
