Track of the Day: Darius Syrossian - My Side Project

"Listen to this, You hear that? You know what that is? That's a fucking tuba! Is that great or what?" Shark Week continues here at LAMP with one of our guest mixer Shark Faicols selections taking us back a few years with Darius Syrossian's "My Side Project'. It's always great having Sharky in the studio with his knowledge of pure house and ability to pull out some great classic house tunes. Syrossian has some fun with his listeners on this one. At its core its a fun disco house track with all the essential elements perfectly mixed and placed to give the track plenty of atmosphere and a solid groove. Keeping things moving with a solid bass line Syrossian drives away never letting the beat stop aside from a fun little vocal sample that I paraphrased up above. Love being reminded of great tracks I forgot about which is why I chose it for the track of the day. Super stoked on Sharky's selection here.Here is the part where I would go into a little bit about Darius Syrossian and his background. Seems he doesn't care too much for that sort of thing and I dont blame him. I laughed a bit at his bio which says "nobody reads dj bio's, i dont care to read anybody else's, so dont expect anybody to want to read mine. all i care about is true house music, i dont believe in Genre's, it is all house music to me." All Im gonna say is thank goodness he left the record store behind and focused on production. The world is better place for it. Now go listen to his music.
