Track of the Day: COS/MES - DFG featuring Dr. Nishimura

'DFG' feat Dr. Nishimura by COS/MES is the oldest track on their page and comes in around 2010. A perfect track for you to get lost in for about seven and a half minutes. From the onset of the track you can immediately place yourself on a beach with some palm trees and a set of bongos as the chorus of tropical birds and multitude of jungle sounds fill in the background. Rounding the track out is a solid groove and soulful baseline that fill the air nicely and aid in the process of losing oneself to the music.This week with Cooper Savers guest mix has given the opportunity to go back in time to review some great tunes that throughout my years of music digging have inevitably slipped through the cracks. Coming to you from Tokyo COS/MES are a duo comprised of 5ive and Flatic. Born out of a burgeoning art and social scene around 2004 they are part of the art collective Tasha Hisha. There isn't very much information available about these two other than their names and a healthy catalog of music on their Soundcloud page. Their music is a blend of house, & tech house that has a very jazzy tropical island feel. They have free downloads of some of their tracks as well as a plethora of mixes to listen to.
