Billy Kenny, Abby Jane - I Operate

'I Operate' by Billy Kenny and Abby Jane is a thumping bass tune that gets down to business and doesn't mince words... literally. You can certainly tell that the two had some fun with this one as they tease us with a very minimal introduction that suddenly takes a turn for the heavy as a gritty bassline tears open the drop. It has a fantastic wobble on the tail end of the loop that really glues it all together. Acid stabs and a minimal vocal sample rest between the kicks churning out wonderfully full punches on the low end. The track's abrupt change in demeanor really makes it an exciting tune to play out as the crowd will certainly be in for a pleasant surprise. For something a little bit darker check out it's accomplice 'The Chord':It's no surprise that this ended up on Dirtybird as CVS has been eyeing Billy Kenny for sometime now. His own label This Ain't Bristol originally featured a production by Abby Jane in September with their initial compilation release which ultimately brought the two under one roof for this release. The entire compilation was a massive success and really shed some light on the future of house and bass artists across the pond:As we addressed earlier in the year Billy Kenny has already established himself, and the fruits of his labor have clearly paid off with this nod from Dirtybird. The Leeds born, Berlin based producer joined forces with Hanover native Abby Jane for this collaboration and the synergy between the two is clearly apparent. Jane's own reputation has been steadily building and her earliest work also features Kenny showing that he has an ear for talent and understands how to nurture it. It's is only a matter of time before Jane's breaks out to deliver some more original content.
