Track of the Day: Amtrac - No Order

Today I have one for you from the incomparable Amtrac. ‘No Order’ is the B-Side of Amtrac’s newest EP ‘Running After EP’, out now on Kidnap kid’s imprint Birds That Fly. ‘No Order’ shows us a darker, moodier side of Amtrac. While he opens the tune with a nice, upbeat staccato phrase, Amtrac quickly brings in a drawn out, emotive chord that can’t help but bring to mind film scores from 1980’s sci-fi movies. ‘No Order’ would find itself right at home in a dystopian hedonist night club on a world imagined by Philip K. Dick. Cornett has seen much success in his relatively short career. Back in 2010 Cornett released his debut album, ‘Came Along LP’, on Super Music Group only to have the title track’s music video debut on MTV Clubland. Since then he has seen releases on several major labels in the electronic music scene including Toolroom and Kitsune, while his original track ‘Hold On’, on Toolroom, peaked at #6 on Beatport’s top 100. Cornett also has an impressive resume of remixes having collaborated with many big players like Zhu and Kaskade. What I find interesting about Amtrac, however, is the fact that he often lay down his own vocals. Tracks like ‘Came Along’ and ‘Long Nights’ showcase the depth of Cornett’s talent as both a producer and a vocalist.Make sure to check out Amtrac this Friday night!
