Track of the Day: Altego - Everything Ends

This week we are starting off with a track from a UK-based producer who releases under the name Altego. Last week Altego dropped ‘Thousand Words EP’, his debut release for Steyoyoke Black. ‘Everything Ends’, the new EP’s B-Side, is nothing short of beautiful. Altego gives us a dark, subdued track with ghostly undertones. The percussion is on point in this one. The thumping kick drum, claps, and hi-hats all fit flawlessly with the ominous synth melodies layered above the beat. ‘Everything Ends’ is a fitting name. He nails that vibe. A well-executed and intricate track to throw into your melodic techno sets![soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/309027835" params="color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false" width="100%" height="166" iframe="true" /]Nick Barns, aka Altego, is a British DJ and producer who is currently signed with London based label AVANT/GARDE. Altego is an interesting act. While he is primarily known for his dark, melodic remixes his catalog of original tracks is steadily growing. ‘Thousand Words EP’ marks Altego’s second EP of the year having dropped the ethereal two-tracker ‘Dust EP’, produced with Aacht, on AVANT/GARDE in February. ‘Dust’ has seen some heat early this year with the title track making an appearance on Lee Van Dowski’s March 2017 chart for Resident Advisor and on Nicole Moudaber’s ‘Reflections’ mix for In The MOOD. Altego has also been pegged for releases by for Stil vor Talent, Three Hands Records, and Vinyl Loop. Keep an eye on Altego moving forward.
