Track of the Day: Tom Demac - Muyu

Got thrown off with my Track of the Day selection today. I had something else entirely in mind for today and as I was getting the Soundcloud embed the next track that auto streamed to my ears was this beauty from Tom Demac and I promptly changed my mind. Not sure how this slipped through the cracks in my music searches to be honest. I really enjoy Tom Demac's work but admittedly have not been following that closely as of late. After doing a bit more research I found out that "Muyu" is the second part in a new monthly series Demac has titled XII. Throughout 2017 Demac will be releasing a new track for the XII series. January saw the release of "Aurara Dawn" a deeply melodic track and recently he released the third track in the series "Howling Clouds" which explores a much more high paced style of Techno. Both of these are excellent tracks I am excited to add to my collection. "Muyu" however is the one that grabbed my attention and for good reason. Starting off with a thunderous kick and some toms that sort of travel in pitch the groove takes on a sort of tribal feel. A whining synth that sounds like old cell phone interference travels around in the back ground as the tambourine shakes away before giving way to a killer Sitar sounding synth that takes center stage. A fun set of 90's rave synth stabs along with a symphony of wood block percussive hits compliments the rest of the track taking the listener on a fun journey from start to finish. Keep an eye out each month for a new one and check down below to hear his other releases for the XII series so far this year.
