Dyed takes Maya Jane Coles hit "What They Say" for a uptempo ride and puts a classic Parisian house`spin on the groove.The track opens up with a cool twangy synth loop accompanied by a smooth break beat style drum pattern. The rework tends to avoid the famous recognizable chord progression from Maya Jane Cole's original for the most and instead introduces its own cool bleep-like synth stab loop. The vocal samples are used sparingly and the overall arrangement is well executed.Dyed Soundorom aka Christophe René is a legendary French House DJ who got his start in the mid 90's at the famous Les Bain Douches in Paris. The venue was originally built as a thermal bath house in 1885, and was known as the mecca of massages, Russian and Turkish baths. That venues transformation to a clubbing environment saw the likes of Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Yves Saint-Laurent,and other influential tastemakers walk through its doors. Dyed is still known today as one of the more profound underground house DJs, often carrying vinyl to his sets and frequenting the likes of Boiler Room and BBC Radio."Recently heard this played out even though it being quite a old remix and decided to include it my mix.
