Track of the Day: I Need Your Love – Hackney Polo Club
Hackney Polo Club
Hackney Polo Club unleash a healthy dose of rumbling UK Bass with 'I Need Your Love'. A soft percussion loop and echoing wurls create a simple but effective intro to the track. A clean kick takes hold of the rhythm and propels the track forward accompanied by a reverberating synth loop to the first build of the song. The resulting drop is delivered with precision as a wobbling bass line and open kick combo transform this seeming harmless house tune into a sweaty underground bass track. The vocal loops are effective and give the track a nice balancing brightness to dark grit of that awesome bass groove. Hard not to imagine anyone within range of a dancelfoor, or just a open space getting down to this tune.Hailing from Upper Clapton, Hackney DJ Jawa (ex Banana Klan / Roots Manuva DJ), and our much talked about producer Billy Kenny make up this exciting collaboration known as Hackney Polo Club. The duo can be found spinning a residency at The Book Club in Shoreditch. According to some quick chats with Lee (aka DJ Jawa) the two met through Billy's uncle and good friend Leigh Kenny aka LSK. While seemingly still in it's infancy as a project Hackney Polo Club has delivered a message that is loud and clear, "Dance music! The bass is coming for you."Another favorite of mine is this thumping tune called 'Big Bad Bassline Sound':Listen to this and other tracks on my latest mix for LAMP:Enjoy,MR PUZL
