Track of the Day feat. Artenvielfalt and Bump & Flex
It was a short week but Sleepy Cat had us covered with some great tracks. Today's he's got a few more coming in the form of an Inner City classic rework from Artenvielfalt and a legendary tune from Bump & Flex. Stay tuned tomorrow when we drop his #weeklymix 12pm PST, if the tracks we've posted this week are any indication then tomorrow's mix is going to be jamming!
Good Life (Artenvielfalt´s 97 Remix) - Inner City
The original Inner City version has been a staple for most house crates, and this rework really brings a smooth down tempo feel to a classic. Leading with some nice clap and bass stabs this remix builds softly into the familiar vocals of Paris Grey. Sometimes well written bios can really do more justice than trying to piece together info from various German press sources ;). See Artenvielfalt´s eccentric description below:"Ben Sachau and Lennart Vonau are real northern ligths. Both of them are looking back on a long musical history. The collaboration as “Artenvielfalt” was founded to create a better environment for everybody. A mixture of nostalgia & modern spirit is impressing their deep, minimal & tech-house compositions. They are constantly on the hunt to find new spiecies in their audio adventures. A visitation on one of their excursions provids an extensive insight into their fascinating work and is leaving a feeling of deep satisfaction."
Long Time Coming - Bump & Flex
Originally released in 1997 in the heyday of OldSkool, UK 2-Step, Garage vibes, listening to "Long Time Coming" again brings a real sense of nostalgia to those old enough to remember those days. Everything from the low end synth stabs to the fast paced claps and snare combos makes anyone want to throw down some fast footwork on the dancefloor. Bump & Flex, better known as Grant Nelson (aka Wishdokta, N'n'G) is one of the godfathers of UK Garage music (originally known as the'Sunday Scene'), with numerous chart toppers in the early 90's.
