Track of the Day: andhim - Tosch (ft. Piper Davis)

Today we have one from a personal favorite of mine, andhim. Next week Simon and Tobias are set to launch their new label, Superfriends Records, with an EP of their own, ‘Tosch EP’. ‘Tosch’, the new EP’s title track, oozes charm and subtlety. Of course, we would expect nothing less from the Germans. ‘Tosch’ features a deep, rumbling bass that contrasts very nicely with what almost sounds like a sample of chirping birds. While it is easy to get sucked into the thick soundscape that Simon and Tobias have conjured with ‘Tosch’, it is the beautiful vocal track from Piper Davis that really elevates the song to the next level. Simon and Tobias, originally from Cologne, released their remix of The Glitz’s ‘White Line’ in 2010 and since then they have had the world in the palms of their hands. Within a year they made the top 10 German Newcomers list for Groove and Raveline Magazine and had collaborated with the likes of Super Flu, Dan Caster, and Gunnar Stillar just to name a few. Over the last couple of years they have seen releases on many major labels including Get Physical, Kittball, Yoshitoshi Recordings.
