LAMP Weekly Mix #169 feat. PZB
I am back to takes over the mix series, going on a bit of a trip down memory lane this week. I had the idea of creating a mix that included songs released over a decade a part from each other. We get so caught up in all of the new material coming into our feeds these days we sometimes forget about the incredible music that preceded it. When I think back to how long I have been DJing and collecting music, switching from buying vinyl to mp3s was a bit of a slow transition. Looking at my collection digitally, it is pretty sparse until around 2006. It really starts to materialize in 2007 when I finally accepted that the digital revolution was here to stay. While perusing through my music from 2007 I got the idea for this weeks mix, which pays homage to a few of the songs, producers and a label that have been highly influential to me over the past decade and beyond. Each track in the mix was either produced in 2007 or 2017 and tries to connect the artists and the music they have created a decade apart. Music from Solomun, Sebastien Leger, Oxia, Olivier Giacomotto, Kiko (Hmm those French guys though), Oliver Koletzski, Martin Eyerer, a classic Claude Von Stroke remix, some incredible Brazilians Gui Boratto and Binaryh, plus a couple of tracks from the Speicher Label. It was a fun little adventure for me to go on I hope you will enjoy it as well. The complete track list is down below. Thanks for listening,PZB
